Abstract

Very few cases had been reported on accidental ingestion of foreign bodies especially fish bones. Herein, I report a case of acute anal pain secondary to accidental ingestion of a fish bone. A 64-year-old man presented with anal pain to our health clinic. He claimed he has eaten fish a day prior to our clinic visit. Upon examination, there was a tip of a fish bone piercing through the anal verge tissue. The fish bone was removed without any complication and patient was discharged well. A long fish bone could potentially cause harm if not detected earlier and treated accordingly. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first case reported in my health clinic.
