Abstract
Liver sarcoma, an exceedingly rare subtype of liver tumors, represents less than 1% of all primary hepatic malignancies. In our case study, a 64-year-old male was diagnosed with an advanced form of liver sarcoma exhibiting a rhabdoid-like morphology. Initially, our treatment plan involved palliative transarterial chemoembolization. However, upon conducting a Hepatic/Portal Lung Shunt Study with SPECT-CT, it revealed significant lung shunting. Consequently, due to the patient's unsuitability for chemotherapy, we opted for best supportive care. Our discussions on palliative approaches for liver sarcoma underscored the formidable challenges posed by the rarity of these tumors. This rarity complicates our understanding of their true prevalence, hampers the establishment of standardized treatment protocols, and limits the feasibility of conducting comprehensive epidemiological studies. Addressing these challenges is crucial for enhancing our grasp of liver sarcoma and devising effective strategies for its management.
